Leukostasis
Rigid sticky blasts --> decreased organ perfusion. Hypoxia, dyspnea, confusion, visual changes.
In AML if WBC >50-100 In CML/ALL, typically higher than this. Rare in CLL
Treatment
- IVF
- Cytoreduction (hydroxyurea)
- TLS prophylaxis
- Avoid transfusions
